Pelvic floor rehabilitation and ergonomy in Nepal for prolapse uterus

As you all know, apart from my routine work,i have been involving myself on the other public health issue that is solved by Physiotherapist. In the recent years i have been noticing the report on the prevalence of prolapse uterus in the country.I found many agencies involved in the prolapse uterus control and i found very very negligible amount of the agencies really focusing the preventive aspect.well, all the agencies talk well about the prevention of prolapse uterus in the country but in the reality that talk is being limited on the same table only. Its shame on those governmental and non governmental agencies.Even the goverment of Nepal allocates the budget for the prolapse uterus but that for the surgery not for the major preventive strategies like pelvic floor ergonomy and rehabilitation.I often get amazed thinking that the people in the health ministry level are missing this fact while allocating their budget. Are they really unaware about the pelvic floor anatomy???
The stressful way Nepalese women accomplished their routine activities it self predisposes them for the pelvic organ prolapse then let us think ,is the surgery is only the sole wise option here in the country???I say No not only the surgery..First of all we need to correct or train the women to do the activities so that there is minimal to no stress on the pelvic floor.Yes, surgery could be done for the grade 3 prolapse but there is a equal importance of the post operative pelvic floor rehabilitation to prevent the vaginal vault prolapse and stress in continence.

I often involve myself in my leisure time to make the women aware of their posture and harmful way of doing their task.As i am on the remote part of Nepal,i know those activities that puts the extra stress on the pelvic floor muscles.I have designed the safe way of doing the routine house jobs with minimal to no stress on pelvic organ.I want to share this with agencies working in the field of prolapse uterus in Nepal.

Recently an organization called WRRP Nepal has invited me in a program.WRRP very truly and heartily accepts the importance of the pelvic floor rehabilitation and ergonomy.I have been training the people in the program of WRRP Nepal since 2010.Recently on 10-9-2011,WRRP Nepal had similar program in surkhet(My Home town). This training was focused to Pair group they have selected for each VDCs(10 vdc surkhet and 10 of Jajarkot). The responsibilities of these pair(husband and wife) group is to care the women with pelvic organ prolapse in their VDC.Well it's my fortune to make these people aware about the pelvic floor rehabilitation and ergonomy.I am sure they are going to apply the things they have learnt in the community.I would like to thank WRRP Nepal to give me this golden opportunity and i aspect the same from the other agencies who been stressing them-self in the field of pelvic organ prolapse.
